Priscilla Canny, Ph.D.

Priscilla (Penny) Canny is Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Connecticut Voices for Children. Previously, she was Director of Research at CT Voices for nine years, and her responsibilities included background research, data analysis and document writing in policy areas such as indicators of child well being, child health, child poverty, youth surveys, and Census issues. She has prepared child indicator reports for Connecticut towns, written a primer on using data, a State of Connecticut Youth report and short census briefs.

Dr. Canny holds a Ph.D. degree from Yale University in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. She was previously the Assistant Dean at Yale's School of Public Health, administering the Masters' degree program and prior to that conducted research at Yale for many years. She still maintains an appointment at Yale's School of Public Health.
