The Federal Budget Matters to Connecticut: The Impact of 2006 and 2007 Budget Cuts

This brief outlines the damaging impact of federal budget cuts made in the FY 2006 budget, as well as the potential impact of FY 07 budget proposals. Connecticut ranks as the 14th hardest hit among all states in the President's budget proposal. These cuts mean, for example, that in 2011, Connecticut's funding for education will be cut by more than 8%, child care by more than 14%, and low-income energy assistance by 29%. (March 2006)
