State of Working Connecticut 2003

Shelley Geballe, J.D., M.P.H., and Douglas Hall, Ph. D.

This report, released for the fourth straight year on Labor Day in partnership with the Economic Policy Institute of Washington DC, summarizes key data about trends in the number and types of jobs, wages, hours worked, unemployment, unionization rates, educational attainment, and income. The key finding: that Connecticut is mired in a “job-losing recovery,’ having lost almost 36,000 jobs since the end of the 2001 recession. (36pp.) (September 2003)
