Family Well-Being Indicators for Larger Connecticut Cities and Towns, 2005-2007

In December 2008, for the first time since the 2000 Census, the U.S. Census Bureau released demographic and socioeconomic data estimates for mid-sized cities and towns. Through the American Community Survey, the Census provided three-year average estimates for the period of 2005-2007 for cities and towns with populations of 20,000 or more.

This data sheet summarizes city and town data on child and family well-being for 29 cities and towns, including people under the federal poverty level (FPL), children below FPL, children under 200% of the FPL, median family income, homeownership, and residents with a bachelor's degree or higher. (Note: Since these are the first of the ACS three-year average estimates for these cities and towns, there are no directly comparable, earlier data available to evaluate change over time.) Also see links to more detailed Census data pages. (March 2009)
